How do you sanitize a large stainless steel tank?

Post by jmezza » Sun Sep 09, 2007 3:29 pm

I'm really excited this season because I just received my MoreWine 100L variable volume stainless steel tank.

However, I am wondering how to effectively sanitize it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Use starsan, that's what I use on my stainless kegs, after I clean them with PBW.

I would guess this is a primary fermentor?

I would clean it very good and use Star San if you want but that is going to get expensive. I would sulphite it, which is what you are going to do with grapes anyway and it is relatively cheap.
Guess what... I got a fever and the only prescription... is more cowbell!

I use either TSP followed by citric acid or Proxy Clean on mine.
