This is my first post, and must say that this is an awesome site!
I've just recently gotten into brewing, and so far, we have a couple gallons of mead, and one batch of Vintner's Merlot.
My fiance has a true allergy to iodine though, and I'm suspecting that not all things that probably contain iodine are labeled such.
Do you have any suggestions to replace the Chitosan fining for the Merlot? It's a shellfish derivative, and I don't feel comfortable with it.
Also, I read that Irish Moss is actually flaked seaweed, after purchasing some thinking the type of moss growing on stones in the yard.
Does anyone know of a good reference covering the ingredients of things? Or know of what else to stay away from? He is not a happy camper when sick and itchy.
