What's your oldest mead?

Postby rookie » Sat Sep 15, 2012 8:12 am

I made a batch of mead (18%) to give my oldest grandkid when she turns 21. It's been in the bottle nine years now. I plan to open one in a year to check how it's doing.

2 years was as long as I ever went with any of mine. I am currently all out, need to make some more.

I'm trying to make at least one a year just so I don't run out.

This thread has me in the mood to make another. Anyone want to post their favorite recipe to age?

I've got a bunch that's 7 years old and a bunch that's 5 years old. I made the batches when I was just getting into wine making (I'm out of that business now though)... and then realized that while I like mead just find I just don't drink it very often... by the time I'm through those two batches it'll probably be 20 years.
