Novmber of 2002 I brewed a mead to give to my first granddaughter on her 21st. Based on the O G and F G from the honey it was about 17%. I then racked it to a secondary with five pounds of cherries and fermentation started up again.
I opened one last week. I could taste the cherries and honey nicely. It also had a nice warmth from the alcohal that was not hot or harsh, very smooth overall.

Very cool brother! I should do that for my daughters, and my son!

Very nice! I admire that kind of patience and ability to plan ahead.
