Mill Motor

The direct drive motor I had on my mill burned out on my the last brew session. Curious what people might be using that they've had good luck with.

I searched and debated a direct drive motor; but ultimately ended up with a deWalt 18V variable speed drill. I mounted it with a bracket to hold in place and then used a zip tie and tightened the trigger until I got the speed I wanted. I then wired the drill to a switch so I just flip the switch to start it up.

It has enough torque that I can add 28lbs of grain to the hopper and then turn it on with no issues.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
