I heard through the grapevine that Kevin had left Hangar 24 (or is leaving soon??) I never received anything from this competition, so I don't know if that means I never will. It's been quite a bit now.

I emailed them two weeks ago and got the response that they thought they all got mailed out and that he'd check to see. However, I still have not received mine. Hopefully we all get them back soon. Maybe next year they'll send them back via e-mail.

I never got my score sheets or medals, what a bummer. Out of all the BJCP homebrew comps I entered over the last few years, this was the only event that did not come through.

Update 10/24/15, received the envelope with score sheets and medals, that took four months, better late than never.

I just got my stuff back today, so don't give up hope on them yet...

Some of the judges were really harsh!  One of my beers got a 14. It has never scored so low in a competition before, nor would I even bother to bottle something that I thought was of that quality. Oh well!

Well, OK, I guess some hope?

A 14, that score is only used for a major problematic beer. Could something have infected it during bottling process? How is that same batch of beer taste today?

Unfortunately, I'm all out of that beer, so I can't compare any today. I did submit that beer to another competition around the same time as the Hangar 24 entry date and the beer scored a 24, which still isn't fantastic, but not the drain pour that a 14 would be. I am guessing that something had to have happened during bottling. The judges said it had an acidity to it. I was looking forward to some feedback on the recipe, but I am sad that the beer they tasted isn't what I thought I was submitting. Oh well.. always another day to brew and try again.
