Yeah, I've had beers with toasted seeds, too. Intersting flavor, no psychoactive component at all, which is what people are usually after. I was recenty given some beer that had a heavy dose of hash added to the boil. No different than the beer would be plain.
I suppose that is why most people do it, which is clearly wrong, but the toasted aspect has potential in a few different beers I thought.
