Incidentally, I got a leak as well from the turkey bags. Plus, the "stainless steel" container rusted so I tossed that batch as it tasted like iron (not good eats).

Instead, I picked up a glass food storage container from IKEA this weekend.

Also, the whey seemed to work just fine as it soured up nicely like the previous batch.

I make mine in 1 qt canning jars. 1 head of cabbage will fit in 2 jars depending on the size of the cabbage. When it's done I just put the lid on and stick it in the fridge.
