Oakland?

Face it, sometimes you just don't want to cook. Got a great brewpub or restaurant you want to tell everyone about? Post it here.

Oakland?

Postby Stein » Mon Aug 21, 2006 1:51 pm

Ok, I know OAK isn't the French Riveria, but I will be taking my engineering crew to CA and we will be flying out of Oakland. I want to find a place near the airport that has some great grub - steaks, seafood, etc. Good beer would be a bonus.

Any suggestions?

Well, Berkeley is just a step away. I hit up Triple Rock a few weeks ago, but missed Trumer...

I think you will hard pressed to find a place that offers everything you're looking for under one roof truly near the airport. But if you get away from the airport a little bit and actually into Oakland itself, your options open up. There is a pretty comprehensive listing of Oakland beer places here:

"Make beer not war"

Currently fermenting: Nothing
Conditioning: Firestone Walker Pale 31 clone
On draught: Nothing

Drake's Barrel House is also close by -- they don't do food themselves but usually have a food truck available. Just a little further South is Buffalo Bills and The Bistro in Hayward -- the former for food and the latter for a great selection of beers. You'll find the most options though in the Oakland/Berkeley area.
