alewife Bday!

Postby tookalisten » Thu Mar 24, 2016 1:40 pm

Happy Birthday!
Mixing up a spent grain birthday cake but have to wait until the dough rises. Then will send out topped with canned pickles from last year's batch!

Will raise a toast to you tonight as I am watching NCAA basketball!

Bless your hearts! Thank you, belatedly! I've missed you guys-- Have not brewed since last fall. Been busy with remodeling and hardscape and landscape stuff.... Truly would rather be brewing. Haha!

Also, found that when not brewing and not buying stuff at local MoreBeer, they quit emailing me and I lost my daily reminder to check in! So, I've signed up again and will be checking in more often.

Cheers,

Alewife

Oh, have been experimenting with my sourdough starter and spent grain breads. Also with using a bit of DME in bread dough. More later in recipe section!

Am wishing myself a happy belated B-Day this year! Haha! Guess the leftovers of the spent grain cake from last year could be recycled for a sour mash! What do you all think?

Again, have missed you all a lot. And, have brewed a bit, as well. Have my very first Flanders Red coming up very soon. Just have to get Easter over with, and I'm there!

Dang; did we miss your birthday this year? I admit that I don't check every day but that is still no excuse for Rich and Drew to miss it; bunch of slackers!
Strawberries will soon be coming off around here; so will have to make a strawberry cheesecake to make up for it.

Happy Belated!

Thanks, Took! You know strawberry cheesecake was something my mom used to make for me on my birthday growing up -- that and lemon meringue pie! Liked both better than cake. Haha! :D

Trying to turn over a new leaf and check in often here!

Cheers
