corny vs sankey

Postby jonny4947 » Sun Feb 05, 2006 4:47 am

I own a draft box with a regulator/setup for a sankey keg. I would like to start kegging beer and plan to buy some corny kegs, but my draft box isnt set up for them. Should I buy the corny kegs at and change the equipment around on my draft box or buy the soda kegs from kegs.com that have been modified to accept the sankey tap? feedback greatly appreciated.

Well, you'd have to have a special filler to use the Sanke kegs. You can't remove the lids on a Sanke Corny, AFAIK.

It's cheaper and easier to convert to a corny set up.

Convert to corny kegs; don't even try to use sanke kegs. All you need to do is cut the tubes off the sanke tap and connect them appropriately to a gas in quick disconnect and a beer out quick disconnect that will attach to your new Cornies. Also "soda" kegs and corny kegs are the same thing or they should be, they both have two posts on them and a removable lid.

This should cost no more than $10.00
