Mammoth Brewing Co's IPA 395

The label said it was a DIPA, but I do not agree. This is more of an english IPA with herbal influence. At 50 IBU's, it's definitely not a DIPA.

Poured orange with a thin tan head. Aromas of juniper and sage dominate. Mouthfeel was medium. Juniper flavor outweighed the hops and there was a clear sage taste in the finish. I won't buy it again as these flavors/aromas were a bit overwhelming and took away from the beer.

Did you take a trip up there and camp out?
At 8% it does qualify for IIPA, but the IBU's are too low at 50, needs to be at least 60. Juniper & sage, not my pint of beer.

BEER, a mixture of malted grains, water, hops and yeast, that is transformed through the course of fermentation that transcends the simplicity of those basic ingredients, fundamentally into the drink of life.

I was camping up in Kernville all last week, right on the river. It was awesome! I grabbed this 22oz at the general store there. I also got a few 22's of Kern River Brewing Company's Class V Stout and their Just Outstanding IPA. Both were excellent!
