Issue with Thermos

Post by bilbobag1981 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 10:30 am

Is there a reason why my coffee tastes bad coming out of the thermos?
I ground fresh beans everyday for my brew. Out of the caraf it tastes great and has a nice golden carmel color.
I put it in my SS thermos, and when I get to work and the color has turned muddier, and the coffee tastes... stale I guess is the best word for it. Is this a common issue with fresh ground coffee? I doubt th SS would be a factor, but am I off base?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My thought is simply that you're drinking old(er) coffee. Just like if you go to a place that has carafe's and they have a time that the coffee was brewed. The same coffee tastes vastly different if it's only 5 minutes old than if it's 50 minutes old.
