cold brewing

Postby swede sd » Mon Mar 08, 2010 8:53 pm

I was talking to a friend who mentioned that he had some cold brewed coffee at lunch last week, and he said it was great. He asked the waitress how it was made, and she said it was just like making sun tea. Put the coffee in the water for 24 hr, then heat it and drink it. Thats the first I have heard of this. I must try.-----------Any input??

Seems very ironic. Who has the patience to make coffee that way? Coffee's what I drink while I'm waiting for my beer/wine/mead to finish!

A coffee shop near my work does this and also sells it by the growler. I tasted some one day and thought it very very smooth. No astringent flavors at all. They make alot of their coffee drinks with it. Alot of people do the cold steep method when they make beers with coffee.

The beer is probably enjoyed by less people than actually like it. -Me
