Anyone else having problems with search?

Postby lootcorp » Wed Apr 16, 2008 9:04 am

Hey all -

Having tons of problems with the search feature...keep getting the "Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes" message. Eventually it will work, but I have to try the search 4 or 5 times before it works. Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks

No problems, but keep in mind that it allows you to search once every few moments... if you do one search, then another search shortly thereafter, it gives you a "wait a moment" message. this cuts down on the load on the database.

Keep in my "View new posts" is a search. Check out the url after you click it. So if you view new then click search it will give you the wait message. HTH.

Thanks for the blazing fast replies, guys! I'll keep an eye on the timing of my search requests and try to space them out a bit more.

Cheers!

I also seem to have this problem when I do a search, then read a thread, and then when I hit the back button. I think it's an auto-refresh thing, I'm still trying to nail down if it's something I have control of in FF or not.

I have a problem when I search. I'll do my search and then click on '2' or 'Next Page' to view the next page of search results. I'll get the 'busy, try again' thing doing that sometimes. Sometimes it goes away quickly, sometimes I give up all hope of a search and cry myself to sleep, sometimes it works fine.

It is the same issue as above. Going to the next page is another search.

If you look at the url, you are calling up search.php=yadayadayada
