Kit conversion to min-mash

Postby edk » Sun Oct 06, 2013 8:56 am

I purchased a extract kit (Irish Red) however I have just built a mash tun and would like to give a mini mash a go.

I was wondering if due to the high amount of specialty grains associated with this recipe I could mash them instead of steeping and sort of do a min-mash?

Any suggestions on how to go about that?

You do not need to mash the specialty grains so mashing them really would not do anything to the finished product. I personally would not.
