Wort has stopped

Postby PeterNash » Sat Dec 13, 2014 6:43 am

I used a Brew kit can but this time I used 1.5lt Barly malt extract in plase of brewing sugar the specGrav at start was 50 as with brewing sugar is 40. The wort has stopped at 14 my hydrometer says not to bottle before 10 I did give it a good stir but this is the second day at 14. I am tempted to add more yeast but that may be a bad idea I do,nt want to spoil what I do have.
So my knollagable friend help me again please.

How long has it been in the primary?
What is fermentation temp?

Thoughts are to allow it to warm up a bit, stir it like you did, and give it more time. All depending on your answers to above questions......
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Looks like you are running good temps.
What beer style is this?

And to be sure I am on the same page with you, when you state your SG is "50"; I assume you meant 1.050 and you are targeting to get to 1.010.
If so, you are not too far off your target. I would not add any more yeast. Give it a few more days. I typically let all my ales go 14 days anyway.
bet you will be fine.
