How much snow did you end up getting? We got all ice/freezing rain. Power was out for about 12 hours. Sunshine today!

grand total of 34" coverd Patio where I brew had drifts up to 2 feet so I had to shovel that today Its a coverd patio so maybe a brew day tomorrow. Kids Schools are already called just waiting to see if the federal gov't will call work. Tomorrow is an office day for me so we will see. Our shared driveway is all cleared and is melted however at this point in time the plows have not come down our street. I live at the end of a dead end so they take their time getting to us.

Gathering the grain for my next Experimental Brewing beer and another sour. Probably brew the sour tomorrow and the pale ale on Monday. Transferring my American Barleywine to the Blue Corn Whiskey barrel today to start it's aging period.

Still have not brewed the kit you sent. Hoped to do it this weekend but spent yesterday and today picking up limbs from the ice storm we had. Finally back to normal today. Maybe next weekend.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Took it a while to drop in pH, but attempted another kettle sour. Mashed it on Wednesday, Boiled it today. Hit my volume perfectly and was off on Starting Gravity by 0.001. Very lightly tart, so I may have lost patience waiting for the lactobacillus to sour this after the last time. Plan is to rack this onto tart cherries next week.

Kegged my kettle sour. 4.7% ABV, slight lactic acid aroma and light lemony tartness. Can't wait until this is fully carbonated!

Brewing an Irish Red for my home brew club style of the month for March. Already smells wonderful!

Kitchen Sink Stout. I need a stout for SPD Parade and just realized I am running out of calendar. Figured I had all I needed on hand, but woke up Sunday morning to no 2-row in the house. I just made a trip to Costo and have tons of bulk oatmeal. Looks like an oatmeal stout with wheat, Munich and pills (only base grains I have and not too much of any one). Curious to see how you all think this might turn out. Feels good to be brewing again, and making something up on the fly.

Cheers!

Oh yea, 10G with US-05 yeast the other 10 with some recovered Wyeast platinum strain, I believe it was a Saison yeast...will have to dig up the specifics later. I'm hoping for a Belgium Breakfast sort of thing.

No thoughts on my wheat/oatmeal/Belgium stout? Well at least I nailed down the age old question of how long does it take you to make a batch. I posted that message above after finishing off the recipe and went right to work. I was done about 2:30PM. Nothing was done prior except for the recipe and mash schedule. So just about 6.5 hours set up to put away.

Carry on.

I'm trying to image what it will taste like. Lots of different things going on flavor-wise and a lot of mouth feel. It may have a slick mouth feel more like a Milk Stout from the wheat and flaked oats. If it doesn't have too much of a coffee note to it, perhaps adding a little cold steeped coffee at kegging/bottling time?
