Did a hoppy amber ale which is inspired by Smog Cities Sabretooth Squirrel, and a smoked stout today.

Hit my numbers and all looking good. About to start the IC. :D

Tapped this keg last night and it may be my new favorite beer to have on tap! I have brewed JZ's hoppier brown dozens and dozens of times (Janet's Brown); but this is the first I have brewed the basic version. It is an amazing beer! Another winner recipe from JZ! If anyone out there does not have "Brewing Classic Styles"; stop what you are doing and get it ordered.

I just did 15 gallons of a Bell's Black Note RIS clone. OG was 1.110 and then I did a partigyle with the mash and made a regular 1.055 stout 10 gallons.

What's everyone got planned to brew over the Holidays?
I have my grains weighed out for a Sweet Stout, and big RIS.
Also picked up a ham hock and a collard; but I guess most of you are not interested in that. :D

Finally got that Sweet Stout brewed today; hit all my numbers and it went well. Gonna try to brew a big RIS before the weekend is out as my first brew of 2017.

By the way - my collards and ham hock was awesome!

Pitched S-04 on the Sweet Stout. I typically use US-05 on all my brews now but decided to try something different.
Cooled down to 65F and just sprinkled on top. Set my fermentor temp at 55F. Checked it last night after watching the New Year come in and that brew was chugging! S-04 really takes off!

I brewed my Big Booted Bastid pale ale as my last brew session of the year. 23 gallons of all Cascade hopped goodness fermenting away at 62-65F ambient, filling my house with such a beautiful aroma.

Brew day went great. 10 gallons in the fermentor and back in the house by 1130a. That's a nice morning.

Plus - added benefit of post whoring by quoting myself....

Poured 4 oz. of Amarillo pellets in the fermentor today. Can't wait.

Racked 10 gallons to kegs today; smelled amazing. Looking forward to sampling this one in about 10 days.

Drove straight thru 17 hours from Florida to Michigan yesterday and then today got up and kegged 20 gallons of Rye IPA and 20 gallons of Two Hearted ale. I'm beat.
